Săptămâna Limbii Engleze
18 – 21 April 2022 English Language Week. The community of Ion Creangă Pedagogical College from Bălți have carried out several events within the English Language Week. Students have been engaged in a variety of activities, which allowed them to demonstrate their talents and skills.
Day 1 was dedicated to the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Students designed posters revealing the most important facts of her 70 years of service to the people of the UK. They publicly presented their posters, which were judged by a professional jury and by the audience. The results of the poster contest are the following: 1st place – Cheptea Aurelia, group 204; 2nd place – Arap Alina, group 204; 3rd place – Dobic Andreea, Barbacari Olga, Negru Gabriela, Brînzanu Ludmila, group 201. The Audience Award went to Arap Alina, group 204.
The event entitled College Got Talent of Day 2 brought together the most talented and courageous students, who recited, sang, danced and acted, animating the audience and bringing the English spirit into the blissful atmosphere of the concert hall.
Day 3 provided students with the opportunity to prove their knowledge of English culture and civilization. Students of the second and third year participated in several quizzes dedicated to the UK. The rankings of the quizzes are as follows:
Quiz 1. London and Its Sights: 1st place – Andreea Tican, 2nd place - Arap Alina, 3rd place – Canțîr Cristina, group 204.
Quiz 2. The Royal Family: 1st place – Nicuța Iulia, group 304, 2nd place - Negru Gabriela, group 201, 3rd place – Canțîr Cristina, group 204.
Quiz 3. The UK (General Knowledge): 1st place - Andreea Tican, 2nd place - Canțîr Cristina, 3rd place – Arap Alina, group 204.
Day 4. Study Visit to the Centers of Alecu Russo Bălți State University. Students of the first year made a visit to the British Culture Centre, American Center and SAFE Media Space to find out more about various possibilities to improve their English language skills.
